Reishi mushroom originates from East Asia and is labelled as “queen of the herbs” and “mushroom of immortality” in traditional Chinese medicine. It grows high in the mountains on the old trees trunks or by springs. Complete mushroom is dried together with its spores and ground into powder, creating PlanetBIO reishi powder. PlanetBIO reishi tincture is produced by boiling reishi powder and then evaporating the water from the extract. What remains is dissolved in 16 % ethanol, making the final product.

Unlike other mushrooms, reishi contains ganoderic acid which gives it a mildly bitter taste. It has anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenic effects. Reishi also contains water-soluble PS-G polysaccharides, which strengthen immune system, hinder cell death processes and act as antioxidants. There are also proteins and a high share of dietary fibre, which regulate digestion and speed up detoxification by binding toxins. Reishi also contains minerals phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, zinc, manganese, iron and copper.
Some other bioactive substances also present in reishi powder are ergosterol, mannitol, coumarin, alkaloids, lactones, unsaturated fatty acids and adenosine. Together they help to improve general well-being and increase physical strength.
